Requires a compatible VST3 host and incoming audio. No standalone app, AU/AAX, Windows, Linux, Universal or native Apple Silicon build is included. Native version 0.4.2 is unchanged; this distribution is packaging revision privacy-r2.

Install

  1. Save your work and quit audio hosts normally before installing or removing the plugin.
  2. Extract the whole ZIP with Archive Utility and keep its files together.
  3. Open ZPSBreakthrough Audition Installer.app through normal macOS controls. Its retained Audition Installer title belongs to the tested installer; it installs the Breakthrough 0.4.2 payload in this package.
  4. Choose Install / Update. The guarded installer verifies the expected identity and payload, refuses loaded or unknown modified destinations, and keeps an update backup outside the plugin scan folder. It installs only the user-level ZPSBreakthrough.vst3.
  5. Open your host, enable/rescan VST3 if needed, and load Breakthrough. Start with quiet monitoring and your own audio; save a new test session before relying on it in production.

The bundles are locally ad-hoc signed, not Developer ID signed or notarized. Ordinary browser-downloaded GUI/Gatekeeper installation is not qualified. macOS may block the app. Keep normal OS security enabled; if blocked, stop and contact support. Do not remove quarantine, disable Gatekeeper or bypass security warnings.

Use

Start with Foundation for drum shaping. Drive sets saturation input, Compression scales reduction, Punch shapes attack, Body shapes sustain/weight, and Low Protect protects the low-frequency processing difference. Attack Keep separately protects onsets. Detector HPF changes compressor detection; it is not a bass EQ. Threshold, Ratio, Attack and Release expose the compressor. Tone, Saturation, Blend and Output remain explicit controls; no hidden gain compensation is added.

Glitch Layer Off disables only the fragment layer; compression, saturation and drum shaping still operate. Try Low-Anchored Destruction, or Stutter Fill and hold/release the momentary Fill button. Glitch Amount, Activity, Slice Size, Repeats and Pattern govern the bounded fragment layer. Release Fill before leaving the session. Fill also releases on Escape or focus loss.

Clock Sync, Clock Time, Clock Division, Beat Grid and Pattern Lock control timing. NEW PATTERN is direct editing of the exact seed 0–65535, not a randomizer. Clock Time accepts milliseconds. Drag or use arrows; Shift is fine adjustment; Home/Ctrl-click restores defaults. Double-click values for numeric entry. Inactive guidance distinguishes Dry only, Compression off, Glitch layer off and Glitch Amount 0 without deleting settings.

Use Save Preset, A/B and Copy to Other for comparisons. Both display scales show all 29 controls. The glass burst is decorative. Input shows the measured two-second envelope; output shows the actual recent waveform. IN/OUT/RMS and compressor GR are measurements, not simulated movement. Begin at a low listening level and adjust Output when comparing stronger settings.

Remove and restore

Save and close hosts normally. Open the same installer and choose Remove. It removes only verified matching files and preserves a backup; user presets remain. Reinstall with Install / Update when required. Keep the installer result and your download for recovery. If an unknown or modified installation is refused, contact support rather than deleting files manually. No developer audition Set, source packet or old private package is required for a fresh install.

Evidence and limitations

Zero added plugin latency; five-second reported tail. Prior paired Release profiling found callback-deadline outliers in both old and current builds; no zero-dropout claim is made. Recorded Live automation playback, hardware/interface stress and screen-reader qualification have not been performed for this release package.

Focused offline tests on this exact privacy-clean payload cover native identity/defaults, state/A-B recall, sample-level audio parity, SDK validation and isolated installer behavior. Earlier native editor/CPU and scoped Live 11 evidence is inherited from the equivalent installed build, not a new Live or consumer-install test of this ZIP. Full hardware latency includes the host, interface and any surrounding chain. No broad host support, guaranteed performance or artistic acceptance is implied.

Privacy packaging and artwork

The distribution omits developer guides, saved sessions, captured audio, user presets and private machine metadata. Developer debug metadata and verified SDK diagnostic path prefixes were removed, then nested hashes and ad-hoc signatures regenerated. Executable instructions, plugin identities, defaults, DSP and artwork/resources are unchanged; audio and state parity are tested. This does not disable your ability to save your own settings.

The approved visual assets include AI-assisted artwork, integrated with native controls and real measurements. Original runtime art bytes, color information and any embedded provenance are preserved. No newly generated artwork or fabricated plugin activity is used in this release.
